- Latrine in back yard of house in Niger.
- Date
- 1970-1973
- Creator
- Jessop, Penny Patricia
- Description
- This was our latrine in the back corner of the backyard. When my sister Karen heard that we had to squat over a hole in the ground in order to go to the bathroom, she airmailed us a black toilet seat. We built adobe bricks up around the hole and put the toilet seat on it. But it would get so hot that we ended up bringing the toilet seat inside the house every time we finished using it. It looks like it was decorated for Halloween with the ghost in the corner.
